So you want to help decorate the White House for the holidays?

Since I was a little girl, Dia De Los Muertos was my very favorite holiday. It's important you know that this holiday is not about death, it’s about celebrating life. Day of the Dead is a perfect look at the beauty and joy of Hispanic heritage.

Dia de los Muertos is a nostalgic holiday celebrated in Mexico and many Latin American countries. This Dia De Los Muertos activity is a great way to encourage larger participation in your altar in a school setting, where community members gather or even with guests in your home.

I love how this easy holiday DIY turned out! I prefer a flocked Christmas tree but everything I had seen in store looked like it’s been rolled in dust so I decided to make it myself. This is an easy project for beginners and you can also try it on wreaths and garlands.

I was honored to be invited back to the White House as a holiday decorator. Alongside 300 volunteers, I helped transform multiple rooms into a winter wonderland! We used 98 trees, approximately 14,975 feet of ribbon, over 350 candles, over 33,892 ornaments, and over 22,100 bells to decorate the White House.

Last year, I got to visit The White House to help decorate for the holiday season. I was surprised how much of this seasonal display is hand made by artists and volunteers.
